Santhwanam 2 (transl. Consolation 2) is an Indian Malayalam-language soap opera directed by Anzar Khan.[1] It is an official remake of Tamil soap opera Pandian Stores 2. It stars Krishnakumar Menon, Lavanya Nair, Roslin in lead roles.The show premiered on 17 June 2024 on Asianet and OTT platform Disney+ Hotstar.[2][3] It is a spirtual spin-off of Santhwanam.[4] The story of this serial is inspired from Dileep's movie Kaaryasthan.

Plot

The series delves into the intense rivalry between two families, Krishnamangalam and Devamangalam, highlighting the strength of family ties and the complexities of interpersonal relationships.

The drama begins to unfold when Balan, an orphan adopted by the Krishnamangalam household, marries the youngest daughter, Gomathi. This causes the two families became enemies.

28 Years Later

Balan has become a well-known figure in society, the proud owner of Gomathi Stores, and the strict head of the Devamangalam family. His life revolves around his perfect family and the thriving business he has built.[5]

Production

The teaser of the show was released on 3 May 2024.[8] After that several audience enquired whether it is sequel to Santhwanam.[9][10] But it is clarified by Gopika Anil who played lead role in Santhwanam that it will follow a new story with new characters.[11][12]

An event titled Tharolsavam which was launch event for Santhwanam 2 and another TV series Janakiyudeyum Abhiyudeyum Veedu and relaunch of Star Singer Season 9 was held at Kannur. The event aired on Asianet on 16 June 2024 a day before the show's launch.[13]
