The Householder (hindi: Gharbar; sh. Domaćin) je indijski crno-bijeli igrani film snimljen 1963. godine u režiji Jamesa Ivory i produkciji Ismaila Merchanta, poznat kao prvo ostvarenje tog tandema i njihove kompanije Merchant Ivory Productions. Predstavlja adaptaciju istoimenog romana Ruth Prawer Jhabvala koja je također napisala scenario. Protagonist, koga tumači Shashi Kapoor, je Prem Sagar, mladi nastavnik na delhijskom privatnom koledžu koji je upravo stupio u dogovoreni brak sa djevojkom Indu (čiji lik tumači Leela Naidu). Radnja prikazuje komplikacije uzrokovane neiskustvom mladih supružnika, odnosno pokušaje Prema Sagar da se uz pomoć starijih poznanika i ljudi od autoriteta prilagodi novoj situaciji. The Householder je nastao nakon što je propao Mecrhantov pokušaj da u režiji Sidneya Myersa snimio film Devgar, kome je Ivory trebao biti direktor fotografije; Merchant je umjesto toga prikupljena sredstva kao i dio glumačke postave uložio u novi projekt, gdje je Ivory postao režiser. Film je snimljen u dvije verzije - na hindiju i na engleskom jeziku.
